Charlotte Ainslie

Direct Care / Residential Counselor

Charlotte "ghost" Ainslie was born in Waco, Texas, but adopted and raised in Staten Island, New York—giving her a special place in her heart for working with young adults who are coming out of, or have experienced, the foster care system and DCF (Department of Children and Families). She has moved frequently, living in five different states over the past five years, but has finally settled in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she lives with her fiancé and pets. ghost now serves as a Direct Care / Residential Counselor in the Transitional Youth Empowerment program (TYEP) at Meryl’s Safe Haven.

ghost has always had a passion for helping others. In the past, she volunteered with a program called Overland, assisting with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts—doing everything from replanting native flora to helping rebuild homes. She also spent time teaching English to young students in the Dominican Republic through the Outreach 360 program.

ghost brings valuable experience from her time working as a Support Technician at a women’s substance abuse and trauma recovery center in Southern California. It was during this time that her passion for helping others truly blossomed, confirming that this was the path she was meant to take. She finds fulfillment in using her own life experiences to support others through their own challenges, offering guidance and encouragement along the way. For her, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone overcome an obstacle or reach a goal they once thought impossible.

Currently, ghost is pursuing a Master Herbalism course online through the American College of Healthcare Sciences. She hopes to one day help people suffering from chronic illnesses and rare, incurable diseases—like herself—find relief through ancient herbal remedies.

ghost feels it is both an honor and a privilege to work at a place that genuinely cares about its mission. She’s proud to be part of a team that pours so much heart and energy into helping families and young adults access the support they need.
